I would like to give the whole team at Fernside a shout out.  I don’t know if they realise the difference they have made not only to C’s life but also to my life as her mum.  It took about a year after C moved to Fernside for me to think of myself as mum rather than as her carer.

I have nothing but positives. All the staff are a wonderful band bringing different strengths to the house. I was so struck at K's review meeting by the precision of her care plan and monitoring. I know whenever we meet out of the home all the staff carry it out exactly. I would like to pass on a special thank you to G. My mum often talks about her and how she loves K.

We as a family always find Woodside to be a welcoming environment staffed by amazing, caring, considerate individuals. To single anyone out would be unfair as they all appear to have the boys’ interest at heart.

Our son’s needs are more than met and his social life exceeds that of his parents. We feel incredibly lucky to have found Woodside and consider it to be our son’s forever home.

I’m confident the care is top class and we feel we can look forward to the future.

They are going kayaking and stuff like that with a member of staff, even I wouldn’t go kayaking. Now you can see the expressions on their faces, they go zip wiring, it’s like there are no boundaries. They are going to get round it to have that fulfilment just like what you and I can have.

It’s lovely, it’s calm, it’s welcoming, it’s just a lovely environment. As a parent, we’ve got everything that we could possibly wish for, for our daughter. It is a home from home.
